Defect

Defect is such a demeaning word which cannot be tagged with the ultimate goal or happiness relating to the human emotions.

Indeed defect is also derogatory and will have such a lasting impact on any individual if you explicitly mention that he or she suffers from a physical or an emotional defect..
I feel in english we could have a better word to describe the situation rather than pin point an individual with certain traits... some approach a way forward to overcome and provide a way forward and not live with the ever growing guilt of a defect which indeed will destroy any sane person.

I feel that defect is natural and one needs to extend all the support is needed to keep the situation as normal as possible and then look to provide a profound impact on the individual to leap beyond the inevitable.
